Full Description
A Packing Door is a sealed access door assembly used on industrial equipment such as boilers, furnaces, dryers, cyclones, and pressure vessels. It is designed to provide safe access for inspection, cleaning, or maintenance while maintaining a tight seal against heat, pressure, dust, or process media during operation.
The door assembly typically consists of a steel door plate, mounting frame, clamping or bolting mechanism, and high-temperature packing (gasket) material such as fiberglass rope, ceramic fiber, graphite, or PTFE-based packing. The packing material is compressed between the door and the frame to prevent leakage of hot gases, steam, dust, or liquids.
Packing doors are engineered to withstand elevated temperatures, mechanical stress, and repeated opening/closing cycles. They are commonly used in applications requiring reliable sealing, easy maintenance access, and long service life under harsh industrial operating conditions.
